Data Gathering Meeting for traffic demands in Caspian and Black Sea regions. 

   The common TAE OR&MWG and Data Gathering Meeting for traffic demands in Caspian and Black Sea regions and construction of submarine cable system Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan was held on April 19-20, 2007, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

   The main aims of this meeting were to determine traffic demands in the regions of Caspian and Black Sea, to attract potential customers, investors, suppliers and developers of the construction of submarine cable systems and based on the results to prepare recommendations to TAE Management Committee.

   Based on results of DGM there were made the following statements:

   There are demands for high-speed circuits 622Mbits and 2,5Gbits from Europe to Asia

   TAE OR&MWG proposes TAE Management Committee to consider the possibility of participation in construction of Trans Caspian and Trans Black Sea submarine lines

   TAE OR&MWG proposes TAE Management Committee to consider the possibility of participation in establishment of consortium on the construction of Trans Europe Asia transport line on DWDM technology using equipment of single vendor in order to provide common price policy and to avoid block-pricing on separate segments of route.
